Again this year we were so very fortunate to have JR Patrick join our coaching staff. JR has always gone out of his way to make himself available for ESC. He is now running his own basketball camps and he still makes it a priority to work with the kids at our camp. His commitment to our camps and his own programs supporting the development of youth in basketball epitomizes the true team spirit “much can be accomplished when no one cares who gets credit”. It is my sincere wish that he can continue his association with Edmonton Sports Camps as they move forward. If you cannot attend one of our camps we strongly endorse JR Patrick’s Basketball programing. You will find a link (RIGHT HAND SIDE) to his web site on our web page

2012 camps have wrapped for the year… check back here in November we sometimes have been known to run a Christmas Camp. No plans right now but you never know.
JR Patrick joined us during the second week of camps. JR has been with us for the past 4 years and always finds away to make it.He dropped by our Junior and Senior camps this year after play offs with the Edmonton Energy in Seattle. JR runs camps throughout the summer check him out on Facebook at “JR Patrick Youth B-ball camps”
Our camp was doubly blessed this year…
Michelle Plouffe happened to be in the gym for a Global TV interview and she gave some words of inspiration to our Junior Campers! Michelle’s next stop? London England for the ’12 Olympic Games. Our Canadian Women’s team qualified and Michelle will be playing for the Nats in London, a long way from her Basketball roots in Edmonton! She played EYBA for SE and high school hoops at Ainlay. Besides her national team commitment Michelle is playing NCAA for U of Utah
Watch for our camps again next year we can be found in the gym at Harry Ainlay during the first two weeks in July. WE ARE CLOSING IN ON 30 YEARS!
Volleyball Camp? see links on right hand margin
Take a look at this piece that aired on Shaw TV last week.(click on the link). This is a nicely presented critique of what we have been doing for 25 years here in Edmonton. The World Headquarters for Edmonton Sports Camps was featured along with J.R. Patrick from the Edmonton Energy. Special thanks to Shaw TV and Jordan Greenly.
- JR has been putting up some big numbers during his Energy games. We recently met up and had a chance to talk. His immediate goal is to bring home an IBL championship to the city! NOW THOSE ARE SOME PRETTY BIG WORDS… but there it is a GOAL….The ENERGY look to be contender this season. At the time of writing they are 8-2. The bad news… play offs are taking place during the first week of camp so JR may not be available. The good news, there is a break and he will be there for the second week.
If you have not seen a game there is still time! (and by the looks of the small crowds not many of you have!! )Check out the action Saturday June 13 7:15 PM at GMCC downtown. This is a pretty amazing team with lots of talent. Many players on the Energy have their basketball roots here in Edmonton. Now I see the Energy has signed a U of Calgary player! How long before Calgary will want their own team!
If you register for one week of our camp between June 8 and 13 2009 I will buy you one ticket for Saturday’s June 13th Energy game Call me at the office 903 7031!!!!!
JR Patrick is back in Edmonton.
JR has returned home from playing Pro Ball in France. Currently he is preparing for another season with the EDMONTON ENERGY, Edmonton’s new IBL team. This is great news for Edmonton Sports Camps as JR has agreed to once again join our coaching staff.
JR was a big hit last year with our campers. Elementary campers were able to score some much sought after autographs, Junior and Senior campers benefited from JR’s ability level. You can check around on our site to see some pictures of JR at last years camps.
